Loire Valley, France

The Loire Valley is a just short train journey from Paris and well worth a visit. With majestic chateaux's, medieval towns with bustling markets and amazing local wines, there are a number of reasons to visit the Loire Valley. Also whilst exploring Amboise Castle (pictured), we discovered that Leonardo da Vinci, choose to spend his last years in this area, before he died here in 1519, exactly 500 years ago today.
